Kayaking Merit Badge

You don’t have to wait for Summer Camp to have fun on the water! Kayaking Merit Badge is now available in Freeport. It’s serious fun for Scouts, Patrols and Troops! Learn how to safely and efficiently handle a kayak by paddling forward, backward, skully and turn, plus self rescue, assisted rescue and so much more! Partials may be given, but successful completion of this 2-day course will qualify you for Kayaking Merit Badge.
Classes held on 2 consecutive Fridays from 8AM-11AM. Space is limited to just 10 Scouts per class, and Swimming Merit Badge or ‘Swimmer’ is a prerequisite. Course includes 6 hours of classroom and on-water instruction and testing, as well as kayak, PFD and paddle rentals. Course fee just $50 and includes one year of free rentals. Counselor/Instructor is an A.C.A. trained Eagle Scout and Assistant Scoutmaster. Classes fill up quickly--don’t delay.
